Kitchen and dining
Your kitchen. The inevitable gathering point for any group? We think so.
The Pool on the Hill's open-plan kitchen means you can bring your favourite family traditions with you to Koh Samui – whether it’s Saturday pancakes, lazy brunches or home-made birthday cakes (baked with an ocean view).
complimentary Continental breakfast
pre-order your food and drinks
in-house chef and catered dinners
filtered drinking water (and ice)
"The large kitchen/dining area is well equipped and great for either larger groups or those who enjoy space." – a recent guest
Kitchen island (on an island)
With power outlets on each end and four comfy stools in the middle, you can catch up on Colbert or peruse Pinterest for some recipe inspiration – ideally in the company of your very best people and an overflowing bowl of tropical fruit.
The large kitchen island is where you’ll realise, most days, that it’s past noon and you’re still in pyjamas. Worried about missing the view? Don’t worry – a mirrored backsplash keeps you fully informed of passing planes, nearby sailboats and rudely-shaped clouds.
Appliances and kitchen storage
The Pool on the Hill’s family kitchen includes a large island and high-grade German appliances including gas and induction hobs, two ovens and a microwave. What you can’t see? The tap water is potable – so you won’t need plastic water bottles (more on that magic here).
Induction hob (with idiot-proof instructions)
Two ovens and a microwave (and more easy instructions)
Fridge/freezer with ice machine (made with drinking water)
Dishwasher (uses filtered water)
If you manage to fill up the kitchen cupboards during your stay ... you have a hoarding problem. While both under-counter and under-island kitchen drawers hold everything you need to cook, roast, bake, chop and generally feast, everything at eye level and above is empty cupboard space for your snacks (excepting one magic cupboard that holds board games and jigsaw puzzles). Snacks that someone else – if you ask nicely – will go and buy for you (more on that, below!).
Amongst the concierge services available when you stay at The Pool on the Hill is the chance to pre-order groceries, snacks and drinks; ready and waiting for your arrival. (Ask for anything and everything coconut – it’s Koh Samui’s speciality).
Also Included in the kitchen
Drinking water from the tap! (7x filtered and UV sanitised)
Double sink and small bar sink
Full set of cookware, roasting and baking dishes (IKEA)
General kitchen knives and utensils
Cutlery, dishes and drinkware for ten guests
Pool-safe (unbreakable) plastic wine and cocktail glasses
Your dining options
At The Pool on the Hill, you’ll find a great variety of places to eat breakfast, have a snack or enjoy cocktails at sunset. There’s the kitchen island, indoor and outdoor dining tables, the pool deck and the sala. (Or, for the particularly greedy, face-first in the mango tree outside).
Don’t like cooking?
We don’t blame you – it’s hot! Instead, there are plenty of in-house dining options requiring no effort: request an in-house chef, catered dinners and BBQs, or try dozens of great Koh Samui restaurants on nearby Choeng Mon Beach and vicinity. (Dining on the Rocks and SALA Samui Restaurant are both just a few minutes' drive away).
Dining table for ten
While dining under the stars is always tempting, the large dining table will be a favourite spot for brunch and dinner. (If you put take-out Thai food into your own dishes you can totally take chef credit). While the table in the photo is set with eight chairs, you can fit all ten guests together around the table. It’s a slightly tighter fit, but you’re all friends, right?
Once fed, let’s do exactly what our mothers told us not to: head downstairs and go swimming.
